(Vicksburg) Carol West will present  “Women’s Civil War Diaries” on Thursday, September 21, 2000, at 7:00 p.m. at the Southern Cultural Heritage Complex Auditorium in downtown Vicksburg.  As a Professor of Law at Mississippi College, West’s areas of study include legislation, domestic relations, and women and the law.  During this lecture, West will speak on the lives of three women from different socio-economic and cultural backgrounds who kept diaries during the Civil War.  

The presentation is part of the Southern Cultural Heritage Foundation’s (SCHF) Humanities Lecture Series, which takes place on the third Thursday of every month. The Southern Cultural Heritage Complex’s (SCHC) Auditorium is located at the corner of Cherry and Crawford Streets in Downtown Vicksburg.  A reception will immediately follow the lecture.
